Ladies’ Brunch and Men’s Breakfast
The ladies of King’sBridge hold a quarterly brunch, and the men meet monthly for breakfast and fellowship. Both events often feature a guest speaker or other special entertainment.
Book Discussion Group
Our Book Discussion Group meets monthly to talk about a recent novel.
Current Events Group
This group meets to discuss issues in the news, as well as topics of recent importance.
Bus trips are scheduled on a regular basis to visit local attractions such as the Fernbank Museum, IMAX theatre and Emory University’s Schwartz Center for the Performing Arts, where residents enjoy performances that include the Atlanta Symphony.
Musical artists and entertainers are scheduled weekly in the King’sBridge Pavilion auditorium. We’ve hosted pianists and other soloists, in addition to ensembles that perform a wide variety of music. Residents also enjoy travel slide shows and lectures featuring guest speakers.
Many residents are active volunteers when they move to King’sBridge, and the lifestyle here encourages their continued participation. We partner with the Special Olympics, the Alzheimer’s Association and others to provide services that continue the spirit of giving.
Wellness and Fitness Activities
The Wellness Center is staffed seven days a week, where staff members play a vital role in the day-to-day lives of residents.
Maintaining good health and a healthy lifestyle is vital to wellness. Our professional staff monitors and assesses residents’ health as needed, and provides both first aid and 24-hour emergency assistance. A staff member will visit a resident in his or her apartment during a time of illness, if requested.
Family members are kept in the loop with information about relevant health-related issues, and any medical concerns are communicated immediately.
Fitness Classes and Clubs
Offered through an exercise physiologist three days each week in the Pavilion, with a program designed to improve muscle elasticity and increase endurance.
A walking club meets to walk in the Pavilion each afternoon for 30 minutes.
Held by guest speakers who discuss a variety of wellness topics that are of interest to senior adults.
Classes are held weekly for relaxation and cardiovascular improvement.
