Senior Activities at King'sBridge

Today’s older adults are reinventing how our society looks at aging – seniors are busier, more creative, and more active than ever before. They also want to engage in more exciting and entertaining activities, and lead higher quality lives. To meet the needs of this dynamic generation of older adults, senior living communities are stepping up their game by developing new programs and upgrading their activity calendars. Read on to learn more about how King’sBridge is elevating senior living with great activities.

Staying active is always important, of course, but especially as we age. Compared with their counterparts who do not participate in senior community activities, those who participate in senior center activities have higher levels of social interaction, life satisfaction and health, according to the National Council on Aging (NCOA). Participation in these activities can help older adults learn to manage chronic diseases and delay the onset of age-related conditions. Engaging in social activities can help older adults build and maintain relationships, stay emotionally strong, and improve health benefits. Participants may also experience measurable improvements in their physical, social, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being.

Senior centers are popular hubs of activity. In fact, more than a million adults in the United States visit one of the nation’s nearly 10,000 senior centers. Senior centers, assisted living communities, independent living communities, and memory care communities can serve as gateways to community services that help older adults stay healthy and as independent as possible. The activities offered in these centers and communities can also be a lot of fun.

No matter how you like to spend your recreation time, King’sBridge offers activities that are both fun and educational – our packed-full social calendar also helps you build friendships within the community. Here is a list of some of the exciting activities that have taken place at King'sBridge:

  • Games such as cards, bingo, board games, team trivia, and Wii games
  • Special amenities and fun treatments, such as manicures
  • Exercises with balloons and weights to keep your body in shape, and brain aerobics to keep your mind sharp
  • Devotionals and Bible study

Volunteer Projects

Volunteering helps the community, of course, but it can also help improve the quality of life, create stronger social networks, and increase levels of physical activity in older adults. Being a volunteer can lower mortality rates among seniors too. At King’sBridge, we make volunteering easy by partnering with Special Olympics Georgia, the Alzheimer’s Association and other organizations that continue the spirit of giving.
