This SMS & MMS Privacy Policy (“Policy”) explains how Kingsbridge Retirement Community (“Kingsbridge”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and safeguards personal information for purposes of communicating with residents, their family members, caregivers, prospective residents, authorized representatives, and staff (“you”). By opting in to receive SMS/MMS communications, you agree to this Policy.
Scope
This Policy governs all SMS/MMS communications sent by Kingsbridge using any communications platform, including business VoIP systems such as RingCentral.
Types of Communications We Send
A. Informational & Transactional Communications
Sent with express consent:
- Appointment or schedule reminders
- Wellness check-ins (non-HIPAA unless authorized)
- Dining or activity notifications
- Emergency or safety alerts
- Administrative updates
- Staff scheduling or internal communications
B. MMS Photo & Media Messages
With your authorization, Kingsbridge may send:
- Photos of residents participating in activities
- General wellness or “status update” images
- Event celebration photos
- Brief, non-sensitive video clips
Sensitive health information, medical imagery, or HIPAA-governed content will never be sent through MMS unless Kingsbridge receives documented written authorization.
C. Marketing Messages
If Kingsbridge sends promotional texts, we will first obtain express written consent, as required by TCPA. Kingsbridge does not send marketing SMS without this separate opt-in.

We collect:
Identifiers
- Name
- Mobile phone number
- Relationship to resident
Messaging Data
- Opt-in/opt-out logs
- Message delivery and interaction data
- STOP/HELP command history
- Photo/MMS permission status
Content Data
- Messages sent or received
- Photos or media you choose to send
How We Use Your Information
We use personal information to:
- Deliver SMS/MMS messages you have requested or authorized
- Maintain compliance with TCPA, CTIA, and GDPR
- Manage resident engagement and family communication
- Support emergency or welfare-related messaging
- Respond to HELP requests and support inquiries
We do not sell personal data or share SMS/MMS consent with third parties for marketing.
Disclosure of Information
We may share information only with:
- VoIP/SMS service providers (e.g., RingCentral)
- Emergency responders
- Authorized representatives of the resident
- Legal or regulatory authorities when required
These parties must adhere to Kingsbridge’s data protection obligations.
MMS & Photo Messaging Practices
Kingsbridge may send MMS messages containing:
- Activity photos
- Celebration or event images
- General wellness snapshots
- Non-sensitive status updates
We will never send:
- Medical diagnoses
- Protected health record images
- Any sensitive health data without prior written authorization
You may revoke MMS/photo permissions by replying STOP MMS, contacting Kingsbridge, or updating your communication preferences.

Security

These SMS & MMS Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the use of text messaging (SMS) and multimedia messaging (MMS) communications provided by Kingsbridge Retirement Community (“Kingsbridge,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By opting in to receive SMS or MMS messages from Kingsbridge, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not opt in to receive SMS/MMS communications.
1. Program Description
Kingsbridge uses SMS and MMS messaging to communicate with residents, family members, caregivers, authorized representatives, prospective residents, and staff. Messages may include, but are not limited to:
- Appointment reminders
- Wellness or care-related updates
- Community announcements and activity notifications
- Dining or event information
- Emergency or safety alerts
- Administrative or operational communications
- Photos or short videos sent via MMS (e.g., resident participation in activities or community events)
Messages are sent using business communication platforms, including VoIP services such as RingCentral.
2. Consent to Receive Messages
By providing your mobile phone number and opting in, you expressly consent to receive SMS and MMS messages from Kingsbridge at the number provided.
You confirm that:
- You are the subscriber or authorized user of the mobile number, and
- You are providing consent voluntarily.
Consent is not a condition of residency, employment, or receiving services, unless SMS/MMS communication is necessary for safety or emergency purposes.
3. Message Frequency & Charges
- Message frequency may vary depending on your interaction with Kingsbridge and the nature of communications.
- Standard message and data rates may apply according to your mobile carrier plan.
- Kingsbridge is not responsible for carrier charges or fees.
4. MMS and Photo Messaging
If you consent to receive MMS messages, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Kingsbridge may send photos or short video clips depicting residents participating in activities, events, or general wellness updates.
- MMS content will not include medical diagnoses, clinical records, or protected health information unless you have provided explicit written authorization.
- Photos will be used solely for communication and engagement purposes.
You may revoke MMS or photo permissions at any time by replying STOP, STOP MMS, or by contacting Kingsbridge directly.
5. Opt-Out Instructions
You may opt out of SMS and MMS messages at any time:
- Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe from all messaging
- Reply HELP for assistance
After opting out, you will receive one final confirmation message. No further SMS/MMS messages will be sent unless you re-enroll.
6. Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Personal information collected through SMS/MMS messaging is handled in accordance with the Kingsbridge SMS & MMS Privacy Policy.
- SMS/MMS consent is not shared or sold to third parties for marketing purposes.
- Information is used only to deliver authorized communications and maintain compliance with applicable laws.

7. Supported Carriers
SMS/MMS services are supported by most major U.S. carriers. Kingsbridge is not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages due to carrier issues, service outages, or device limitations.
8. User Responsibilities
By participating in Kingsbridge’s SMS/MMS program, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and current contact information
- Notify Kingsbridge if your mobile number changes
- Use the service in compliance with applicable laws
- Refrain from using SMS/MMS to transmit unlawful, harmful, or inappropriate content to Kingsbridge staff
9. Service Availability & Limitations
Kingsbridge does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free SMS/MMS delivery. Message delivery may be affected by factors beyond our control, including carrier availability, network congestion, or technical issues.
Kingsbridge reserves the right to suspend or terminate SMS/MMS services at any time without prior notice.
10. Modifications to Terms
Kingsbridge may modify these Terms at any time. Updates will be posted with a revised “Last Updated” date. Continued participation in the SMS/MMS program after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Disclaimer of Liability
SMS/MMS communications are provided on an “as-is” basis. Kingsbridge is not liable for:
- Delayed, undelivered, or misdirected messages
- Errors in message content caused by technical issues
- Unauthorized access to messages due to device or carrier vulnerabilities
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
